Too much exercise = injuries

Hi all,

So I have discovered that the secret to weight loss must be moderation. After working out literally every day last week and trying my best to stick to my restricted calories, I have injured myself. Not only do I have runner's knee, but my ankle and foot are also swollen. I am feeling very down and disappointed with myself because I weigh exactly what I did last week, and I tried to just walk today and I can't even do that.

My goal is to not be upset with myself and to just focus on my diet for this next week. Hopefully doing that and some yoga will be enough for me to get back on the exercise wagon soon!

Thanks for the motivation everyone. You inspire me to try harder each day! J

  1. Courtney - Consider this just a small bump in the journey! My right knee has been very painful this past week due to the humidity in the air (joint problems & arthritis). Anyway, I've reduced my gym time and kept on walking! Sometimes my metabolism responds well to a brief reduction in exercise. . . Keep on working the caloric reduction and you'll be fine!

  2. Hey Courtney! Just a reminder that a pound of fat obviously weighs the same as a pound of muscle... but a pound of muscle takes up less volume!! :)
